What’s new in Clarion
Changes to the app, its emails and these pages, newest first.
Changes
October 2026
Policy area pages list a lobbying filing’s matching subject first, and find more French debates on ports and treaties.
Policy area and Trends counts now include only debates and news that name the area, so some totals are lower.
In the app, official pages now cover a year of activity, and choosing a week shows only that week.
Senator profiles in the app now show their seat and Senate group, and the public directory titles women senators sénatrice.
Officials’ pages now show the official photo of most provincial and territorial members.
Senators now have their own pages and Senate remarks, and Prince Edward Island’s member list is current.
Policy area pages now cite only the debates and government news that are about the area.
Officials’ pages show Quebec remarks, and new ones from Alberta, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island.
Officials now have one page per jurisdiction, with each one’s role and district.
A lobbying report now counts only for an official in the registry’s own jurisdiction.
Organization pages name each official’s registry, MP pages show official photos, and Québec party releases file under Party.
Official pages now lead with who’s lobbying them and show their activity week by week over the last 12 weeks.
On a phone, a bill’s progress now reads end to end, and its actions sit on one line.
Turning a Clerk answer into a briefing now starts writing in about three seconds.
An organization filed under several spellings now has one page, and bill dates show the right day.
Clerk now suggests follow-up questions under its answers.
On a phone, the Calendar’s month grid now starts near the top, with its filters behind one button.
Nova Scotia government news releases are back in Clarion.
Clerk answers in fewer words, and its Sources count matches the citations on screen.
The Trust page lists only the protections Clarion runs today.
Settings now shows each email’s schedule and where it goes.
The public officials directory now shows members for Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island.
Signing in from the French site now opens the sign-in page in French.
The Inbox shows one row per committee meeting, with its full count of speakers, in your language.
Topic pages separate your topic’s own records from the national sections, now labelled “Across Canada”.
Source health, the status lamp and the source badges now agree on which sources are fresh.
French pages show the most-named federal institutions and chambers under their official French names.
Clerk now answers each question and each Turn into request with its full research tools.
Emails now apply our record corrections, so a withdrawn record is never sent and a corrected one reads right.
Alert and recap emails, and The Dispatch, now print the same passage forecast as the app.
A bill’s passage forecast now follows its calibrated range everywhere, including the API and Clerk.
Public organization, official and policy area pages now include the provincial and municipal lobbying registries Clarion reads.
Lobbying registrations from New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Yukon and Brampton are now in Clarion.
